The goal for this event was to share experiences, methodologies and tools for moving toward financial sustainability at the protected areas system level. Three case studies – from Madagascar, Ecuador, and Palau – were presented. An additional draft paper, entitled "Sustainable Financing of Protected Areas: a global review of challenges and options," was distributed by the panel moderator.
