Supporting biodiversity conservation ventures: Assessing the Impact Investing sector for an investment strategy to support environmental entrepreneuri

This study addresses the current state of the impact investment sector with respect to its focus on the environment. Its main purpose is to provide snapshot of the impact investment space as it relates broadly to environmental conservation.This report also aims to scope a preliminary strategy around the creation of an investment vehicle that supports ventures that have the potential for high biodiversity impacts, while also being financially profitable.

Comparative advantages of Conservation Trust Funds and Project Approach to support Protected Areas systems

The objective of the present study is to compare the advantages and disadvantages of financing through a long-term CTF mechanism versus a project-finance approach to support Protected Areas Systems, as well as to put in evidence the conditions that determine the decision of both investment options. The focus of the study is on Africa and Latin America.

National REDD+ funding frameworks and achieving REDD+ readiness

There has been limited analysis of how REDD+ funding is currently, or could in the future, be managed and disbursed within the intended recipient nations. Sustainable Finance for Protected Areas: Tourism-Based User Fees

The paper argues that worldwide, tourism is the largest industry, with ecotourism being an important segment of the market. Every year, millions of tourists around the world visit protected areas for nature-based recreation. A number of relatively simple, market-based mechanisms can gather significant revenues from tourism-based activities,which can then be directed toward supporting PAs and other conservation efforts.
