Junior Consultant to Provide Global Support to Policy and Capacity for UNDP National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan Support (NBSAPs) Projects

DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 10th, 2015

 

Objective

Provide support to the NBSAP Forum Team on communications, knowledge management, organization, content development and data tracking, and monitoring and evaluation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, biology, economics, social/political sciences, international relations, development studies, economics, administration & management or other related expertise areas.

Master’s degree in environmental management, biology, economics, social/political sciences, international relations, development studies, economics, administration & management or other related expertise areas would be an advantage.

Language

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language.

Good command of French, Spanish, or Portuguese will be an advantage.

Junior Consultant to Support the UNDP-GEF Ecosystems and Biodiversity (EBD) Portfolio

Objective

Provide support to the Ecosystems and Biodiversity Team on communications, knowledge management, maintaining partner relationships, content development and data tracking, and monitoring and evaluation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, biology, economics, social/political sciences, international relations, development studies, economics, administration & management or other related expertise areas is essential. 

Master´s degree in environmental management, biology, economics, social/political sciences, international relations, development studies, economics, administration & management or other related expertise areas would be a plus.

Experience

At least 1 year of experience (employment, internships, apprenticeships) in communications, knowledge management, maintaining partner relationships, content development, data tracking, and/or monitoring and evaluation.

Experience in handling data.

Language

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language

International Consultant for Forestry

DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 13th, 2015

 

Objective

The consultant will work as part of a team of consultants covering related land use information, and will liaise as necessary with other consultants to share information and clarify conflicting data. More specifically, under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and in cooperation with the CTA and NTC, the International Consultant for Forestry will take responsibility to fulfill in a timely and efficient manner some tasks and responsibilities.

Education

Postgraduate or other advanced university degree in forestry management (with major of desert regions), natural resource management, agriculture, environmental management, or related fields.

Experience

At least 5 years of demonstrated working experience in areas relevant to Forestry Management within arid environments with broad practical field experience in similar professional role

Extensive record of accomplishment and experience in the assessment of desert or foothill forestry management and preparation of relevant initiatives

Language

Proficiency in English, knowledge of Russian and/or Uzbek is an advantage

International Consultant - Capacity Development and Project Design Specialist

DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 19th, 2015

 

Objective

The principal responsibility of the international consultant is to contribute to the development of the MSP project document fully compliant with the enforced GEF rules and standards as lead expert on capacity development and project design, closely collaborating with the national project coordinator and (who will be the team leader) and national consultants on institutional, organizational and public awareness capacities and UNDP on setting PPG implementation strategy.

Education

Advanced University degree in the fields of environmental management, public administration or relevant related fields.

Proven expert knowledge in the GEF CCCD/CB2 Project Cycle.

Experience

At least 7 years of relevant professional experience.

Proven experience in developing/implementing similar projects – preferably in the region.

Experience in developing institutional arrangements for multi-national projects.

Previous successful experience in development and approval of the GEF project documents.

Languages

Excellent English writing skills are essential.
